A surrealist dance work on perception, sensation and emotion while migrating as a transfeminine body.
In the work, anxiety and trauma are given physical and poetical forms. It becomes some kind of healing ritual - both lonely and shared, sad and hopeful.
As a starting point, several queer people were interviewed who have moved from one country to another, an experience that Machado shares themselves.
They create a surreal landscape with an inflatable, where the audience is also sitting, experiencing the work from the inside. By being in the same space, the distance between the dancer and the spectator is bridged while conveying sensations that can be contradictory, "as if moss grew on metal".
In Machado's dance work, scenography and costume are intimately linked to their physical expression. Often to the extent that the clothes clearly affect the movement, and the dance transforms the room.
